So, reflections:

You seem rather to skirt around the whole Dark Side question.

mini CRÈME eggs are the mutt’s, a perfect balance of chocolate and goo.

Of The Moon? I likes it fine, but Wish You Were Here was the one that hit me dead centre. There was so much pressure on them to make it a worthy follow-up to The Big One. I reckon they nailed it. You?

I wasn’t a fan of Dark Side when it came out, though I was 16 and squarely target market. Didn’t hate it, just somehow never bothered. I was getting into the Stones and the Faces and so on at that time, and moving away from anything that smelled like prog! Most likely the NME didn’t like it very much, ergo I didn’t! But for reasons that escape me now, I bought a copy in the 90s and started listening to it and I’ve never really stopped. I really think it’s one of the greatest records ever made, and very far from the self-indulgence of most prog. It’s not prog at all, of course - it’s really quite cut to the bone in terms of arrangements. I know it’s something of a concept album, but it’s a very coherent and relatable concept. Most of all, it has fantastic, tight tunes and arrangements and is never boring. So yeah, I love it, and it would definitely be a desert island album for me. Other Floyd albums, including Wish You Were Here, I’m much more patchy on - I really like tracks here and there, from the Syd albums to the Wall (after which I was gone) but Dark Side is the only full album that I really know…
